The Project
This was a top-to-bottom transformation of a home's exterior and the property around it. The goal was twofold: refresh the look of the house itself, and improve how the whole property worked and held up, from the driveway and walkways to the backyard. Task and Build carried the project across every piece of it, from the paintwork to the masonry to the landscaping, coordinating the specialized trades wherever the work called for them, so the homeowner dealt with one point of contact instead of hiring out six separate jobs.
Here's what the transformation involved.
1. Full Exterior House Painting
The house needed serious prep before any color went on. Every exterior surface was sanded and prepared, primer was applied wherever the weathered wood needed it, and the entire exterior was repainted, including the siding, trim, fascia, soffits, and window and door casings. It took the home from a faded, weather-beaten exterior to a clean, bright, finished appearance.

2. Landscaping & Lawn Restoration
The existing landscaping had grown overgrown and tired. Old grass, heavy vegetation, shrubs, and unwanted plant material were cleared out, and a large tree at the front of the property was taken down. From there the soil was prepared, a new lawn was established, and fresh trees and plantings went in, opening up the front of the property and giving it a cleaner, more attractive look.
3. New Driveway & Belgian Block Edging
The old asphalt driveway had cracked and deteriorated well past patching. It was fully removed, the base was prepared, and a new asphalt driveway was installed in its place. Belgian block edging was set along the driveway and the surrounding areas, giving it a defined, durable border that ties into the new landscaping and masonry work.
4. Flagstone Walkway & Entrance
The front flagstone entrance and walkway were removed and rebuilt from the ground up. The stones were repositioned and leveled into a safer, more even walking surface, then edged with Belgian block to match the driveway. Additional flagstone stepping stones were set through the newly landscaped areas, tying the entrance smoothly into the rest of the property.
5. Stone Retaining Wall
An aging wooden retaining wall at the front of the property had deteriorated and was no longer holding up. It was removed and rebuilt as a new stone retaining wall: a stronger, more permanent structure that became a real feature of the front landscaping instead of an eyesore.
6. Backyard Fire Pit & Outdoor Living Area
The backyard was cleared and reworked into a proper outdoor living space. An old hot tub was removed, vegetation and debris were hauled out, and the ground was prepared for new grass. A new stone fire pit and seating area were built overlooking the water, turning an unused yard into a comfortable place to gather.
The Result
What started as a tired house on a tired lot came out the other side as a refreshed home with a functional, finished property around it: new paint, new lawn, a new driveway, rebuilt walkways and retaining wall, and a backyard people actually want to spend time in. Every piece was handled or coordinated by Task and Build as one managed project, so the homeowner had a single point of contact from the first day to the last.
